Profile – Laz Apir

Laz has a cumulative but varied work experience of 11 years, five years supporting project implementation and six years in Management of projects in both technical and administrative capacity covering the 2011, 2015 and 2019 general elections in Nigeria and the 2017 national elections in Liberia. Keeping track on implementation of the biggest and most innovative election observation missions (EOM) from inception through close-out. Core areas of engagement include support to civil society organizations in strengthening democracy locally and internationally, leading advocacy, Monitoring and evaluation of projects as well as organizational capacity building. With specialized trainings in election Open Data Initiatives and adoption of ICTs in elections. Currently, Laz works as Elections Associate at Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD). He is an Alum of the 2013 African Parallel Vote Tabulation Academy Nairobi and the 2013 Fletcher Summer Institute, Tufts University Medford; Massachusetts in nonviolent conflict and civil resistance. Holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Benue State University Makurdi, Nigeria.
