profile – Andrew Ayabam

Andrew Ayabam is an accomplished banker and tax administrator with over 26 years experience in both sectors. He rose through the ranks in the banking sector to serve as Public Sector head, North Central at FCMB in 2008 and later in 2010, he was appointed Executive Chairman of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS). Having employed over 2000 youth in the service, he grew the revenue base of Benue State from N2bn to over N12bn, a feat never achieved prior his appointment. In 2016, he was appointed Regional Director of Benue, Niger and Kaduna States at Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRS), in which capacity he was able to increase collections from N7.5bn to over N20bn between 2016 and 2018. Currently, he has been reappointed to serve as Executive Chairman of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service where he works. Andrew is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCIA), Member of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA), Chartered Institue of Public Administrators (CIPA) and several other professional bodies. Andrew has several academic publications to his credit and is married to Deyila and are blessed with eight children.
