Terence practices law for a living. He is the Founder and Principal Partner of Anakerem Chambers the Law Offices of Terfa Vembe & Co. He was formerly Head of Chambers at the Law Firm of Messrs Ola Olanipekun & Co.
Unassuming and humble, Terence’s blossoming Legal Practice spans inter alia: Civil and Criminal Litigation in all courts within Nigeria and the West African sub-region with landmark judgments to his name. He has several articles published in learned journals with a novel interest in using DNA Technology in Criminal Trials.
He is a Human Rights Activist/Lawyer who successfully led and participated in several civil actions against establishment. He was popularly known among students and youth activists as “Our Man” due to the enormous respect he wielded among his peers and comrades and his logical and matured position on all issues at all times often functioning as mediator in time of internal crisis among his comrades.
He is an Ex-International Handball Player who played in the National Handball Premier League with the Benue Buffaloes Handball Club, Makurdi, Benue State. A grassroots sports development champion, he was a pioneer member/Secretary of the defunct Rockets and Lynxes Handball Clubs, Gboko. He was also at various times Captain (male) and Coach (male and female) of the University of Ibadan Handball Team. A veteran of the game of handball in Nigeria, he is rightly a member of the Mega Veterans Handball, Abuja. Terence is an experienced sports administrator particularly of the game of handball. He is an incumbent member of the management committee of the Common Wealth Handball Association (CHA), Legal Adviser, African Handball Veterans Association, Member, Ethics and Arbitration Committee of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN)and Board Member, Benue State Handball Association.
He is a cultural enthusiast and ardent lover of the Tradition and Culture of Tiv People of Benue State.
Terence is a practicing catholic happily married with children.
